Tymothy Smith began his career in Early Childhood Education in 1986 and has since dedicated nearly four decades to advancing quality in the field. After several years in the classroom, he progressed into leadership roles, including Education Specialist, Director, and Regional Director, building extensive experience in program development and organizational leadership.
For more than 20 years, Tym has trained educators and leaders nationwide, delivering professional development at both local and national conferences. In 2006, he founded Tym the Trainer, a professional development company committed to promoting excellence, equity, and diversity within early childhood education programs.
Tym has owned and operated six early education programs in Texas and is a two-term Past President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association. He is a member of the Texas Trainers Registry and currently serves as President of the Association for Early Learning Leaders.
In addition to his leadership and training work, Tym is a Certified Instructor in Conscious Discipline and The Jon Gordon Companies, a Certified Life is Good Playmaker, and a Certified Life Coach. His work reflects a deep commitment to empowering educators, strengthening leadership, and fostering positive, high-quality learning environments for children and families.
