Per the Child Care Minimum Standards §746.1319, clock hours of training must be completed in a realistic reflection of time. For example, it should take a participant 8 hours to complete 8 clock hours of training. It is not realistic for a participant to complete more clock hours of training than the total number of hours worked in that day. It is not realistic for a participant to complete more clock hours of training in a single day than there are waking hours in a day.
Smith Early Care and Education, LLC and Tym The Trainer are not responsible for training certificates questioned or not accepted by Child Care Regulations or Texas Rising Star when clock hours are not completed in a realistic reflection of time. This is the responsibility of the participant and the Director to manage.
Participants are required to have Instructor Led hours each year. Please see the definition of Instructor Led training in the child care minimum standards §746.123(39). In order for a training to be instructor-led, the training must include an opportunity for the student to interact with the instructor to obtain clarifications and information beyond the scope of the training material. For such an opportunity to exist, the instructor must communicate with the student in a timely fashion, including answering questions, providing feedback on skills practice, providing guidance or information on additional resources, and the ability to interact with the student.
Participants can message Tym The Trainer through our website, call or email with any questions or if they need more information beyond the scope of the material. It is the individual participant and director's responsibility to check with your local Texas Rising Star mentor and local Child Care Regulations inspector for their individual interpretation of instructor-led trainings. This varies around the state with each individual mentor and inspector. Smith Early Care and Education, LLC and Tym The Trainer is not responsible for ensuring trainings completed meet the expectations of each individual inspector and/or mentor.
